Observed Serial Number Range: Lower and upper serial numbers of knives in my collection, viewed on eBay or from other sources. This is obviously an approximate S/N range.      
Number Made: Some totals are well known. However, due to the overlap of serial numbers for different knife types, other values are unknown.            
Blade Serration: TPI = Serrations measured in Teeth Per Inch                          
                                   
(a) Canted (5 Deg. offset) blades were made in the 001001 to 003747 S/N range. However, they may be found up to about S/N 004188 due to special orders.          
(b) Sheaths RT2, RT2S, RT3, RT3S, RT4 and RT4S are found with these knives. Refer to sheath table for serial ranges.                
(c) The "No. Made" quantity doesn’t include the 50 SIGMA knives made in this year. See the CT2S knife.                  
(d) Fifty Special Forces Presentation blades are marked in 2 lines on the Gerber logo side: "SIGMA" - GREEN BERETS / VIETNAM - 1968.            
(e) Rumor has it that some of the SIGMA knives have the serial numbers removed. The reason is unknown.                  
(f) In simulated, red velvetene lined, black box with RT7 sheath and numbered, Pete Gerber signed COA.                  
(g) Blades etched in 2 lines on the Gerber logo side: Mark II™ / 20th Anniversary 1966 - 1986.                    
(h) Not all were sold in the black box with leather sheath. An unknown number of the 5000 were sold later (See note h).                
(i) These are 20th. Anniversary knives w/o the blade etch. They were sold later with Cordura C3 sheaths in the blue & black box with "Mark II WASP  #GB5705" tag.        
(j) Total number of CS serial Cutlery Shoppe knives is approx. 1970 knives. The quanity of each of the 3 types is unknown.              
(k) Knives CS0663 - CS0700 were not produced.                              
(l) Later blades etched on the logo side with Mark II™. Earlier knives are without the etch.                    
(m) Blades etched in 2 lines on the Gerber logo side: Mark II™ / 35th Anniversary 1966 - 2001 .                    
(n) These knives have a Cat's Tongue handle although the COA paper is similar to the 2002 Limited Edition Mark II and should have a black fused Armorhide handle.        
(o) Special order on any early knife with a S/N ending in "000". See (Adrian Van Dyk Sheet).                    
(p) An unknown number exist but are thought to be very few since this option nearly doubled the cost of the knife.                
(q) Handle changed from Cat's Tongue to Gray Armorhide. Both types can be found between S/Ns 008824 and 009301.                
(r) Special order with 10 degree cant. Stamped I.G.S. (Inglewood Gun Shop) above a 5 digit serial number.                  
(s) Knife name changed from "Combat" to "Survival".                            
(t) Sheaths RT5, RT5S, PT1, PT1S, PT2 and PT2S are found with these knives.                      
(u) These non-serrated knives are scattered across this serial number range.                        
(v) Sheaths RT5, PT5S, PT1, PT1S, PT2 and PT2S are found with these knives.                      
(w) There is a large serial number overlap where both the 14 TPI GA4 and 12 TPI GA5 knives were being manufactured.                
(x) Sheaths PT2, PT2S, PT3, PT3S, PT4, PT4S, PT5 and PT5S are found with these knives.
