Although the Mark II is a full sized knife, it was used as a boot knife by Mel Gibson in the film The Road Warrior. The Mark II's distinctive handle can be seen above the top of the outside of his right boot.

ALIENS - 1986 FILM

The Mark II was also featured in a scene in the 1986 science fiction/action movie ALIENS. In the film, Lance Henriksen portrayed Lance Bishop, an android, who served as the Executive Officer of the warship USS Sulaco. As the Sulaco was on the way to its mission, Bishop performed an impressive knife trick, stabbing it between the open fingers of Marine crew member Pvt. Hudson's (Bill Paxton) hand, with bionic speed.

MARK II ALIENS KNIFE

The knife depicted here was purchased in June 1998 at the Atlanta Blade Show. The seller stated that he got the knife from a movie scout and that the scout said it was one of the knives obtained for the movie. The 20th. Century Fox sticker on the box indicates it is either an original prop or a piece of memorabilia made as a presentation piece for the cast members.

The knife looks a bit used and has a serial number of 101673 indicating a 1981 production date. This matches a time before film production started. The sheath is correct for the knife and looks well used. This sheath could have been an actual prop, possibly as part of the uniform of Hicks, a Marine Soldier in the film, hanging upside down from his breastshield. However, this is just conjecture.
